BRI Peduli Membangun PLTMH demi Pemberdayaan Desa BRILiaN Jatihurip

Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) recently provided assistance in the form of a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) in Jatihurip Village, Cisayong District, Tasikmalaya Regency. This initiative reflects BRI’s commitment to supporting environmental sustainability, particularly in the development of renewable energy in rural areas, as a solution for environmentally friendly and sustainable electricity.

Project Details:

• Location: Jatihurip Village, Tasikmalaya Regency, Indonesia.

• Initiative: Installation of a Micro Hydro Power Plant.

• River: The village is blessed with adequate river streams, with the Cidadap River being a primary source of water for various activities, including agriculture and fisheries.

BRI’s Involvement:

• Implementation: BRI collaborated with the People’s Business and Economy Institute (IBEKA) to facilitate the development of the 2.3 KW capacity PLTMH.

• Beneficiaries: The plant is expected to produce 7,588 KWh of electricity annually, benefiting 200 households (KK) in the village.

Benefits of the PLTMH:

• Economic Impact: The plant aims to reduce monthly electricity costs by 40% for villagers, leading to a decrease of 6.07 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

• Community Development: Besides supporting agriculture and fisheries, the electricity generated aids local economic activities and public facilities.

• Education and Training: BRI conducted sessions on renewable energy, electricity usage, and provided training on PLTMH operation, administration, and hydroponic agriculture for 144 villagers.
